An excellent week at Mookerheide
We have just returned from a fortnight in mainland Europe the first week of which we stayed in the Netherlands at Mook. The house’s quiet location and privacy suited us perfectly for relaxing and chilling out in great comfort. We visited Arnheim, Nijmegan and many surrounding war museums, historical sites and the house was well situated for this purpose. A visit to the ‘Van Gogh’ gallery in Kroller Muller Museum and park is a must!However, one could be extremely happy to simply read and relax in comfort at the house and walk/cycle the Mookerheide parklands with perhaps occasional visits to local villages and the river Maas water attractions.
The house is exceptionly clean, well equipped and fitted and furnished to a very high standard. We appreciated it being all on the one level i.e. no stairs. The sun setting through the trees and viewed through the massive front window were beautiful each evening. Front and rear patios were put to good use by us and the comfortable patio furniture was of a high quality. We also were able to watch Wimbledon and BBC TV which was a bonus, as was the wi fi signal.
We were delighted to see that deer, red squirrel and woodpeckers all visited the grounds frequently. The squirrel was fond of the patio!
The location of the house is perfect for local walking and cycling activities and occupies probably the highest ground in Holland so there are some fantastic landscape views especially early morning and sunset. Take a camera!
Last but certainly not least, Anneke (online) and Tom (onsite) were warm and friendly ‘hosts’ and made us very welcome as well as offering helpful advice about the house and area.
Truly a house to cherish and respect and return to if at all possible.

Dear Anneke, I want to thank you for the beautiful days we had at the Collingham. Everything was perfect. The reception with the white wine and chocolates. The appartment and then the second appartment they gave us in the third floor the 130, so comfortable. The elegant neighbourhood. We lived, me and my husband and our three daughters, 5 unforgettable days. So thank you again, and I hope we’ll have the possibility to visit you soon again.
